| T-Ball |
For
six (6) year old who will hit a “reduced impact” ball off a tee.
Emphasis is placed on throwing, hitting, & catching basics, and
learning positions. |
| 7-Year Old |
Coaches pitch a “reduced
injury softball, with continued focus on skill
& position development. |
| 8-Year Old | Machine pitch and girls pitch with 11" R.I.F. (Reduced Injury Factor) softball. |
| U 10 |
Nine (9) year old’s, and some ten (10) year olds, pitch to themselves
from 35 feet. Most ASA rules
begin to apply, with continued emphasis on skill & position development. |
| U 12 | Eleven and Twelve year olds. Begin regular ASA competitive play, with playoffs. There will be tryouts for team placement. |
| U 14 | Thirteen and Fourteen year olds continue ASA competitive play format with playoffs. There will be tryouts for team placement. |
| U 18 | Fifteen's thru Eighteen's will play ASA competitive format with LYA and West Chester |

The Lionville Lighting will be fielding four tournament softball teams this year at the following age levels: U12, U14, and U16. The Lightning play a travel tournament schedule from April through July. Tryouts for the Lighting will be held this Spring.
