Schedule: Saturdays, February 18th - March 25th, 2023, from 12:00pm-1:15pm. Rain dates are each Sunday. New trainees are expected to attend as many as possible to help ensure their success on the field during the season. Please let me know if there are any that you are unable to attend. 

Age Requirements: Must be at least 14 years old (birth year 2008) or older. We also welcome any adults interested in umpiring.

Time Commitment during season: LYA Softball starts on April 1st and games will run through the end of May. A schedule of open games will be sent every two weeks. Two umpires will be assigned to every game at either the plate or in the field. You are welcome to work as much as your schedule allows.

Pay: You will be paid for the games you worked every other Friday via Venmo. Rates are set between $30-$50 and are dependent on the job you worked; i.e. plate, field, division of softball game, etc.

We are happy to have our Umpire in Chief Dan Yarnall and Senior Umpire Bob Byerly teaching the training sessions again this year. The locations of the sessions are still being finalized, but we expect to hold the first one at West Whiteland Firehouse. The subsequent sessions will be held outside at one of the Exton Little League softball fields (weather permitting). All info will be communicated through TeamSnap.
